A ball of thick yarn feels so soft and familiar. The trio of Swiss architects at Atelier Oï took this as a starting point to design Reel and they transformed a simple object into a striking project. The geometrical complexity of this piece must be perfect: a polyethylene thread that forms a graphic weave in a single material, with a strong visual impact.
This is how Atelier Oï created a series of design ottomans that can also be used as small tables: Reel is an English word that embodies the concept of winding.
Reel is a circular service element, in three sizes, designed by Atelier Oï. Placed on a black painted aluminium frame, it winds thick black polyethylene fiber threads string like a ball.
